CLERMONT, Fla. – Molly O’Hara is a CrossFit phenom at the young age of 14.
The freshman at East Ridge High School in Clermont recently placed second in a CrossFit event featuring 30 young women.
O’Hara started lifting weights when she was about 3 or 4 years old. She also plays softball.
The entire O’Hara family is athletic, and Molly’s parents are passionate about working out.
It can be a lot, lifting and running with great intensity.
“You kind of make time for some of it,” O’Hara told News 6. “Like, I take a weight class in school, so that would be part of my strength, and then I go home and do my workout and then go to softball practice. It is a lot, but I still find time to have rest.”
O’Hara said the biggest challenge in CrossFit and weightlifting isn’t even physical.
“It’s all mental. You just have to push through it. It’s going to be really hard and physical, but the way to finish it is definitely in your mind.”
