MIAMI, Fla. – Osceola High School earns its second state football runner-up finish in five years as the Kowboys fall to West Boca 26-7 in the Class 6A state championship.
“Today wasn’t our day,” Osceola head coach Eric Pinellas said after the game. “Sometimes, the ball bounces your way, and sometimes, it doesn’t. Today, it didn’t.”
The Osceola Kowboys finish the season 12-3. Senior running back Taevion Swint led the way for the Kowboys with 115 rushing yards and the lone touchdown.
“Not too many people get here to this point,” Swint said. “We’re just soaking that in, throughout the week to get here. We just came up short.”

The Kowboys relied heavily on the run game, having zero passing yards in the game. The West Boca Bulls scored three touchdowns on long pass plays. West Boca caps off an undefeated season.
Osceola may be losing players like senior Swint, who is off to play college football at UCF. But head coach Pinellas is still proud of this 2024 squad.
“I love my kids, man,” Pinellas said. “They do anything that we [coaches] ask; they show up every day to work. I’m proud of each and every one of them; I love them to death.”
