Prep Player of the Week: Luke McCrimon

McCrimon plays basketball at Osceola High School

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Being a hooper runs in the family for Luke McCrimon, and he wants to make a mark of his own in Central Florida.

The junior shooting guard is averaging 19 points per game for the Osceola High School boys' basketball team. He’s helping flip the script for the Kowboys. McCrimon told News 6 his favorite part of playing at Osceola.

“The history of it; it’s a winning school,” McCrimon said. “It’s an honor to contribute to it.”

Osceola has gone from 14 wins last season to 22 wins this season. The Kowboys go for victory number 23 Thursday in the regular season finale against Poinciana.

McCrimon is a third-generation player, following in the footsteps of his dad and grandad. His uncle, Jimmy McCrimon, helped make history at Osceola in the 80’s.

[He] won a state championship here in 1983; they were 37-0," McCrimon said. “[I’m] just trying to be as close to that as I can.”
