UCF Baseball aims for a deeper postseason run in 2025

Knights lost in NCAA Regionals to FSU last season

ORLANDO, Fla. – On the diamond, the Knights are looking to build upon last season’s success, including an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.

Head Coach Rich Wallace enters his second year at the helm. He saw his team end with a 37-21 record, ultimately losing in Regionals to FSU.

The team spoke to the media at the yearly media day previewing the upcoming season.

“We expect to be in the NCAA Tournament in everything we do,” Wallace said. “It’s set up for that. Anything less than that, the guys would feel like they didn’t do what they were supposed to do.”

UCF lost in the Big 12 Conference semifinals. UCF was 14-15 in conference play.

“I really believe that we can take this program to new heights this year and do some things that haven’t been done in this program’s history,” left-handed pitcher Dominic Castellano said.

The Knights had two players make the Big 12 preseason All-Big 12 team with Castellano and right-handed pitcher Dom Stagliano.

“I think we’re ready to compete against anyone,” Stagliano said. “(It) don’t matter who, what, where, when or why. I think we’re ready to go.”

First pitch is Friday, Feb. 14, against Siena at John Euliano Park.
