Prep Player of the Week: Ethan Rathmann

Rathmann plays baseball at Olympia High School

ORLANDO, Fla. – Before going into high school, Ethan Rathmann had college baseball plans lined up. But that hasn’t stopped him from showing out in high school.

The junior center fielder is tearing it up this year at Olympia High School, batting close to .400 for the Titans. It’s not a surprise college coaches were lining up for Rathmann. And he’s grateful Olympia is providing the field for him to play.

“It means a lot because some people aren’t guaranteed four years or even get the chance to play all four years, so it’s definitely something special,” Rathmann reflected.

The Miami Hurricanes got the early commitment from Rathmann, and he can’t wait to get to South Florida. But he wants to continue developing as a player and a leader at Olympia.

“Since freshman year, I know I’ve been doing my part,” Rathmann told News 6. “And I’m hoping I can carry that through the season and also hopefully pull some people up with me, like leaders as well.”
