WINTER PARK, Fla. – McKenna Hawley brings the heat on the mound for Trinity Prep.
The junior pitcher is a dominant force for the Saints. In her softball career at Trinity Prep, Hawley has racked up more than a thousand strikeouts, including nearly 300 in one season.
Hawley will be staying close to home for her college career as the UCF Knights look to further develop her pitching. It’s a program that’s very familiar to her.

“I have been going to UCF camps since I was like eight years old, ever since I started softball,” Hawley told News 6. “I fell in the love with the program, fell in love with [Coach Cindy Ball-Malone], fell in love with all the teammates and just the culture in general. The thing about UCF and pitching is that they know how to utilize the pitchers. Everyone has their different strengths. It’s been exciting; it’s nice living here and being able to come to the games and support them.”
