CLERMONT, Fla. – Uriah Maynard has used his football skills to provide new opportunities on and off the field.
The senior from East Ridge High School agreed to a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with GNC in Clermont. Maynard is benefitting from the state giving the green light for high school athletes to take advantage of NIL starting this school year.
“It was big for me,” Maynard told News 6 about the state’s decision regarding NIL. “I was honestly ready for it, and I definitely wanted to be a part of that. I’m truly blessed for this opportunity.”
Maynard was one of the best running backs in Lake County, rushing for over 1,200 yards in his senior season at East Ridge. He’s got a full ride to play football at Wagner College in New York.
“It’s a blessing because many people don’t get this opportunity,” Maynard said. “Thank God had chose me to be the one. I feel like no one can stop me (on the field).”
