ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF Football took its show indoors on Thursday.

Head Coach Gus Malzahn announced the team’s 2024 motto: TNT, which the coach defined as “Tough ‘n Together.” Malzahn admitted to doing a lot of self-evaluation this offseason as he and the Knights try to bounce back from a 6-7 record in 2023.

“We weren’t a disciplined team. We weren’t really a hard-nosed, physical team,” said Malzahn.

“Any growing pains that we may have need to be on the practice field and not on Saturdays like last year,” he added.

As indicated in the new motto, the team also stressed being closer this season.

“Shooting basketball, playing ping-pong, different things like that to make sure we are bonded together,” said quarterback KJ Jefferson.

The Knights open the 2024 season at home against New Hampshire on Thursday, Aug. 29.
