ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida will play a small part in the Super Bowl LIX matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Eagles and Chiefs will face off for the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in three years, with kickoff set for Feb. 9 in New Orleans.

Four athletes from Central Florida will take the field on Feb. 9 – three from the Eagles and one from the Chiefs.

You’ll also see a few players who played college football in the state of Florida.
Chiefs tackles D. J. Humphries and Jawaan Taylor both played college football at the University of Florida, as well as defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi
As for the Eagles, the aforementioned Gardner-Johnson, who plays safety, and tackle Fred Johnson also suited up for the Florida Gators. Eagles linebacker Josh Sweat and receiver Johnny Wilson played at Florida State.
Kickoff for the Big Game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with Kendrick Lamar and SZA set to perform at halftime at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
