ORLANDO, Fla. – Universal Orlando Resort is ready for you and your fellow Minions to test your villainous skills in an all-new attraction coming to Universal Studios Florida.
Debuting in summer 2023, the theme park will officially have a Minion Land with the opening of the first-of-its-kind family attraction, Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast.

The interactive, blaster game experience will combine innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity and elaborate physical sets that will create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure, Universal described in a news release.
When guests step inside the attraction, they will be transported into the film’s Orlando-based Villain-Con, the biggest criminal convention on the planet, where they will compete against each other in a bid to join the ranks of the the Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains from the hit film, “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” The resort said those guests who are up for the challenge will grab an interactive blaster and step onto a motion-based pathway where they will earn points by blasting a variety of unique target items.
Along the way, guests will encounter immersive environments, other nefarious villains and tons of mischievous Minions from Illumination’s films.
Along with the new attraction, Universal Orlando said guests can continue their mischievous day by visiting the all-new Minions Café. The new eatery follows in the footsteps of Universal Studios Hollywood, which opened its own Minions Café in 2021.

Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast will be located at the former spot of Shrek 4-D, which closed to guests last year. Construction on the attraction has been underway since early this year.
Universal Orlando says even more surprises inside the new Minion Land will be announced in the coming months.
