BAY LAKE, Fla. – Walt Disney World’s creative teams are putting the final touches on holiday celebrations.
On Monday, Disney shared on its blog some additional details about one of its newest holiday events, along with some new additions and experiences coming to its other theme parks.
Beginning Nov. 11, the all-new event, “Jollywood Nights” will kick off at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

This separately ticketed event will have guests experiencing an evening full of new live entertainment, dancing, delicious food and drinks, character meet-and-greets and the return of the nighttime spectacular “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM.”
Along Sunset Boulevard, in the Theater of the Stars, guests can enjoy the all-new “Disney’s Holidays in Hollywood.”
The star-studded variety show will feature characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Belle and Tiana. The show will feature dancing and an all-new original song by Tiana.
Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie will also have a part in the holiday event.
At the Hyperion Theater, the theater will transform from its daytime “Frozen” sing-along show to the “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along.”
The show will feature some of the iconic songs and characters from the hit 1993 film.
Mickey, Minnie and all their pals are also getting dressed up in some new outfits for “Jollywood Nights.” The new outfits are inspired by the party’s vintage vibe, which celebrates the glitz and glam of Hollywood. Guests will get the chance to see them in Animation Courtyard during the meet-and-greet experience called “Mickey & Friends Holiday Greetings.”
“It’s really going to be something unique. We tried to establish a color palate that gives a nod to the past, while also to the present,” said RJ Temple, show director of Disney Live Entertainment.
Disney said each of the characters will be posing in front of fun and festive backgrounds. That’s not the only character meet-and-greets happening. Over by Echo Lake, guests will find favorites including Powerline Max, Rescue Rangers Chip ‘n’ Dale and Phineas and Ferb.
Over at Magic Kingdom, Disney shared a first look at the new “Frozen” themed holiday show.
Beginning Nov. 7, guests can take in the wonder of the “Frozen Holiday Surprise.” The projection shows on Cinderella Castle features Olaf and more than 100 of his snowgie siblings as they decorate the castle with festive touches. Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff even make appearances on stage during the show.
“To create a project of this size it takes a super large team. We have writers, lighting designers, video technicians, audio engineers, composers – a full orchestra that gets recorded. We have our team of artists and animators and then our amazing cast that bring it to life. It really takes a village,” said Dana Carlson, creative producer, Disney Live Entertainment.
Guests can see the new show on select nights, and during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, which begins Nov. 9.
Walt Disney World also shared details about some of its other holiday experiences. Over at EPCOT, guests can check out the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays beginning Nov. 24. This year, guests will get to see special Disney 100th holiday décor and the all-new nighttime spectacular, “Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” which debuts on Dec. 5.
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the park will welcome back its popular experience “Merry Menagerie.” Life-sized animal puppets explore and interact with guests on Discovery Island. Guests might even see some popular Disney characters in their holiday best, along with Santa Claus.
Beginning Nov. 10, Disney Springs will transform for the holiday season. Guests can dine at popular restaurants, shop for that perfect holiday gift and take on find 19 Disney-themed trees on display during the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll.
