BAY LAKE, Fla. – In an exciting announcement, Disney Live Entertainment on Tuesday unveiled “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure,” a reimagined show inspired by the timeless Walt Disney classic.

Set to debut in the newly revitalized Animation Courtyard theater in fall 2024 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney said the production marks a significant leap in its commitment to enhancing the Parks experience. The new show replaces “Voyage of The Little Mermaid,” which has been closed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

“As part of our continued investment in the Parks experience, Disney Live Entertainment has been dreaming up innovative ways to bring new life to the beloved story of Ariel’s journey to be part of the human world,” Disney said on its blog.

Leaders said the show promises an all-new experience, featuring new set pieces, cutting-edge effects and a daring new design that captures Ariel’s vivid imagination and emotional journey through her unique perspective of the world. The show will feature musical numbers inspired by the original film, including classics like “Part of Your World” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”

One standout addition is the all-new “Kiss the Girl” scene, adding a fresh touch of magic to this reinvigorated production.

Disney said construction within the theater is now underway.

Teams plans to share more details about the show on the Disney Parks Blog in the future.
