SeaWorld: ‘Penguin Trek’ reaches construction milestone with ride track now complete

Attraction set to open this spring

ORLANDO, Fla. – The ride track is now complete for SeaWorld Orlando’s newest roller coaster, Penguin Trek, the theme park said in an announcement on social media.

The new attraction is set to transport guests on an unforgettable expedition that catapults them through the Antarctic wilderness at speeds of up to 43 mph across a 3,020-foot track.

The park said the coaster’s finale will have the ride coming to a halt and guests will be in the heart of SeaWorld Orlando’s own penguin habitat.

First announced last year, the new snowmobile-style coaster is set to open this spring in the park’s Antarctica area. The video posted online Tuesday showed construction crews lifting the final piece of roller coaster track into place. Due to the construction of the new coaster, the park has temporarily closed off the Antarctica area of the park that includes the entrance to the penguin habitat.

SeaWorld has put up a temporary entrance near the entrance to the Kraken roller coaster.
