WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – In the hours after the Florida Panthers hoisted the Stanley Cup for the first time, four Legoland master model builders went to work on crafting a suitable salute to commemorate the historic victory.
Legoland Florida Resort unveiled a replica of the team’s championship moment. The creative exhibit — on display near the Miami section of Miniland USA — includes 29 Florida Panther hockey players, 20 fans, 18 dance team members and six actual panthers, some of which are sporting jerseys. Some fans are also holding rats, which is a nod to the game tradition where fans in the stands will throw fake rodents on the ice.

The LEGO replica has over 4,000 bricks and took more than 20 hours to build.
A few players are holding signs that read, “I’m going to Legoland Florida Resort!” — it’s a likely twist on the iconic “I’m going to Disney World” catchphrase said by someone from a winning collegiate or pro team.
The Panthers faced the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals Monday night, beating them in Game 7 of the championship. Legoland Florida had shown support to the NHL team throughout the Stanley Cup Finals. The LEGO championship scene replaces a previous replica which depicted fans on a lawn watching and cheering on the Panthers on a big LEGO screen.
