ORLANDO, Fla. – Two popular Disney World attractions are ditching the virtual queue and will now have standby lines.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will no longer offer virtual queues, starting Tuesday, Feb. 25, according to Disney’s website. The last day that a virtual queue will be available for both attractions is Feb. 24.

"Virtual queues continue to be helpful with the launch of popular attractions and the debut of new experiences and offerings, so we may use them again from time to time for select experiences in the future," Disney said on its website.

Both attractions will be available via standby queue or Lightning Lane. For Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, it’s a Multi Pass selection, while Cosmic Rewind requires a Single Pass.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has had a virtual queue since its opening in May 2022.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is the most recent attraction to open at Disney World, opened in June 2024 with a virtual queue. Disney had said before it opened that it would launch a standby queue soon after its opening.

Walt Disney World has implemented virtual queues for some of its other popular attractions including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Those virtual queues have since been dropped and the rides now have standby queue options.

This news comes as Disney World was approved to remove its Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island as part of its largest upcoming expansion at Magic Kingdom, according to documents obtained by News 6.

At D23 Expo last year, Disney officials unveiled the massive Magic Kingdom expansion at Frontierland — which will be themed around the “Cars” movies — and a land dedicated to Disney’s villain characters.
