A 300-room hotel will also serve as the entrance to the resort, providing a place to stay, play, and relax.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to bring these iconic stories to life for kids and families to experience, interact with, and play together,” said Sarah Gibbon, VP & executive producer at Universal Creative.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of themed attractions. DreamWorks’ Shrek will offer an ogre-sized playground while Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants will invite guests to explore an underwater neighborhood. Illumination’s Minions will provide unpredictable, water-soaked fun, and Jurassic World will offer interactive dinosaur encounters.
The resort will also host a vibrant music festival with DreamWorks’ Trolls and a kitty adoption drive with Puss in Boots. The central hub will feature shady lawns and interactive play areas, with opportunities to meet characters like Gabby from “Gabby’s Dollhouse.”
Additional details about Universal Kids Resort will be revealed over time.
First announced in 2023, Universal Kids Resort comes on the heels of Universal’s biggest U.S. theme park, Epic Universe, opening in May in Orlando. Last summer, Universal Studios also opened a new themed land inspired by DreamWorks Animation.
