Named after Sam McKim, the Disney Legend was a concept artist for the original Frontierland in Disneyland Park. What we would now consider hotels, Imagineers were also inspired by historic mile houses of the American West to create the story of Frontierland.

The lounge is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all eligible Disney Vacation Club Members with valid park tickets and reservations to Magic Kingdom Park.

Last summer, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade — an opening date attraction — closed to make way for the lounge. The opening of McKim’s Mile House is part of the changing landscape of Frontierland.

Following the arcade’s closure, Disney announced that Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island at Magic Kingdom will be closing in 2025 to make way for a Frontierland expansion themed around the “Cars” franchise. A specific closing date hasn’t been announced.
