LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a must-do Walt Disney World destination for the holiday season but this year, a festive tradition will not be on display.
Renovations will begin this month on the resort’s lobby, where a bar will be added to the elegant Victorian ambiance. Inspired by the lobby’s iconic birdcage, the bar’s design will feature intricate woodwork, stained glass, and brass accents.

The renovation project is expected to last through the end of 2025, which means the resort’s popular Christmas display will be impacted.

Disney confirmed that the gingerbread house will not be built this year, however, the lobby will be decked out for the holiday season, including the presence of its Christmas tree.

According to Disney, the lobby’s renovation marks the culmination of the resort’s multi-year refurbishment, which has included enhanced guest rooms, refreshed dining experiences, including the Michelin star-awarded Victoria & Albert’s, Cítricos, Narcoossee’s, 1900 Park Fare and more.

In the meantime, the Grand Floridian resort lobby is decked out with extravagant chocolate eggs as part of its Easter celebration.
Guests can also hop over to the Grand Cottage pop-up treat shop to do their Easter basket item shopping.

Easter displays at Walt Disney World Resorts will last until April 20.
