Missing Winter Haven man’s Porsche 911 last seen fleeing traffic stop, police say
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Winter Haven police are searching for a 51-year-old man whose Porsche 911 was last seen fleeing a traffic stop although it’s unclear if he was behind the wheel, according to authorities. Police said Todd Locke Johnson, of Winter Haven, was last seen in the Orlando area on Nov. 6 at a friend’s home. He left around 9:45 p.m. in his white Porsche 911 with Florida tag KYL139. Authorities said it’s unclear if Johnson was driving the car and he left his phone at his friend’s home in Orlando. Anyone who has information about Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to call Winter Haven Detective Wierzba at 863-221-3652.
Dispatchers report 911 outage in Marion County
MARION COUNTY, Fla. – Anyone calling 911 Wednesday evening in Marion County may not be able to reach authorities for help, according to Ocala police. In a Facebook post, the department said 911 lines are down for Ocala and throughout Marion County. Authorities are working with CenturyLink to resolve the outage, according to the post. The lines have been down since around 6 p.m.It’s unclear if the outage also impacts text to 911. Check back for updates on this developing story.
A true hero: Flagler dispatcher saves 2 lives through CPR one hour apart
On Sunday around 3:30 p.m., Davis took a 911 call from a mother in Palm Coast who was frantic because her 6-month-old baby was not breathing. Davis walked the mother through CPR and counted with her as she gave the infant compressions. According to the call logs, the baby was breathing again about four minutes after the mother called 911. No one there knew CPR so over speakerphone Davis explained how to perform CPR to the family, according to FCSO. Davis now has four leaves on the FCSO Communication Centers Tree of Life which honors lives saved by dispatchers.

But while the world is sad over Thompson’s passing, he at least had 19 more years of living after nearly dying during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. But Rome’s producer, Danny Schwartz, asked that he fly out a day later to accommodate the show’s schedule. Thompson told Schwartz that wouldn’t work and he was unhappy at the suggestion, but after Schwartz insisted, Thompson changed his flight. Ten years after that day, Thompson went on Rome’s radio show to reminisce, starting with a message Thompson’s assistant relayed to him. “Let me tell you something, if you’re ever in Washington, D.C., you look me up,” Thompson told Schwartz.
26-year-old woman dies in accidental Ormond Beach shooting, deputies say
ORMOND BEACH – A 26-year-old woman died in an accidental shooting in Ormond Beach early Saturday morning, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was found at her home on Fairland Road just before 3 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the upper body, and later died at Halifax Health Medical Center, according to deputies. She was identified Monday as Ashleigh Murphy. The shooter was the one who called 911 and has been cooperating with authorities, records show. His or her name has not been released.
