A man who served 19 years in prison for violent bank robberies was arrested Tuesday in connection with another bank robbery in Belle Isle, according to police.

An investigation is underway after two people, including a child, were found dead in a Belle Isle residence early Sunday, according to the Belle Isle Police Department.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A missing man was found dead Thursday night at a Belle Isle hotel, which had to be evacuated after a bottle of cyanide was discovered, according to police. The Belle Isle Police Department said officers were called to the WoodSpring Suites, where the man, whose name has not yet been released, was found dead in a room. A bottle of cyanide, which was not spilled, was also discovered in the room, according to police. The family of Stephanie Hollingsworth is asking for 100 volunteers to meet at 8:30 Sunday morning to conduct a massive area search for Stephanie and/or her 2000 Silver Tahoe. They are asking for people to take a few hours out of their Sunday morning to search for any clues that will help find this mother of three teenage boys and bring her home. The family is requesting to meet at the Walmart on Goldenrod Road. Belle Isle Police will be there.

BELLE ISLE, Fla. Officers with the Belle Isle Police Department are at the scene of McCoys Barber Shop on McCoy Road after a juvenile was shot in the face, according to police. Belle Isle Police said he is in stable condition. Investigators said a black Chevy impala and black Dodge Charger were reported to be involved in the incident. PONCE INLET, Fla. An off-duty Belle Isle Police Department officer is being credited for helping to save the life of a man who became unresponsive while face down in rough surf Memorial Day weekend. According to a Facebook post from the department, Belle Isle Police Deputy Chief Travis Grimm was at Ponce Inlet with his family on May 24, swimming in the ocean with his brother about 20 feet away from a man and a woman who were boogie boarding. Beachgoers who witnessed the bravery gave Grimm, his brother and an emergency room doctor who also helped a standing ovation. He suffered a fairly severe injury, which is likely the reason he became unresponsive in the water. He would have drowned if it werent for your Deputy Chief, and we are very grateful he was there, Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue officials said.
