Players were scheduled to start practice this week, but after an assistance coach tested positive for the novel coronavirus, practice was put on hold for two weeks, Jenkins said in an email. The Bulldogs were scheduled to play their first game on Sept. 18 but that game has now been canceled. Players and coaching staff have been asked to quarantine until Sept. 16.

Around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police said they determined that the 17-year-old boy who reported the threat made up the story to get out of school. DeLand High School is on lockdown as a precaution. DeLand High lockdown has been lifted. No gun was found and that lockdown was lifted about 30 minutes later, according to police.
