DELAND, Fla. – Volusia County detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found early Monday morning in DeLand. Deputies responded to a 911 call around 6 a.m. after someone found the body near Spring Hill Park by Delaware Avenue and Green Street, not far from Edith I. Stark Elementary School. The victim was later determined to be Jamarkis Frazier, 18, of DeLand, according to a sheriff’s office release. Authorities did not offer any other information.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A body was found on the side of the road in Zellwood in Orange County on Tuesday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they were called to Plymouth Sorrento and Haas Roads in Orange County for a man down call around 8:14 a.m.Deputies said they discovered the body of a man in the area and are now investigating the death as a homicide. Multiple sheriff’s office vehicles were seen blocking off the area as investigators canvassed the area. Investigators did not say how long the body was there. The name of the man has not been released at this time.
