MIAMI – A South Florida man has been accused of fraudulently obtaining $60,000 in federal coronavirus relief loans. Louis received proceeds from three fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program loans in early June, according to a criminal complaint. Louis had PPP loan money deposited into accounts that he controlled, prosecutors said. Authorities said surveillance cameras caught him withdrawing cash from one of these accounts after the loan money was deposited. The Paycheck Protection Program represents billions of dollars in forgivable small business loans for Americans struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stephen Smith, 43, of Cocoa, claimed a lump-sum payment of $790,000.00 after winning on a THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 Scratch-Off game. WELLINGTON, Fla. – A Florida construction worker called in a bomb threat to a water treatment facility to get a day off work, authorities said. Richard Hamilton, 36, was arrested Thursday and charged with making a bomb threat, the Palm Beach Post reported. More than 20 people evacuated Wellington's water treatment plant shortly after the threatening 911 call around 7 a.m. Thursday, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff’s bomb squad, a bomb dog and drones searched Hamilton’s vehicle and the surrounding area and found no evidence of a bomb, the sheriff’s office said. Wellington's water service was not affected, village officials said.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A dispute over an unleashed dog prompted two Florida men to pull out their weapons and exchanged gunfire. One man ended up hospitalized, and both were arrested on charges of gun possession by a convicted felon. Joseph Tyrone Scott, 39, and Dewayne Mavins, 35, were jailed on Wednesday, The Gainesville Sun reported. Frank Kinsey said the argument began over Mavins walking his large dog while unleashed. Scott was shot in the chest and lower leg and treated for non-life threatening wounds.

BELLE ISLE, Fla. – Belle Isle police said an armed 18-year-old man found sleeping in his car-- still in drive --on Christmas morning is accused of threatening to shoot a police officer. The officer said Reyna was sitting slumped over in the driver’s seat with a bottle of scotch in his lap, snoring. The officer said he saw a black gun holster in Reyna’s waistband and 18-year-old continued to try and reach into his pants. After the officer was able to secure Reyna’s handcuffs, the suspect said “Ima shoot your (expletive) bruh,” according to the report. At one point, Reyna spit on two Belle Isle police officers trying to secure him to a gurney, according to the report.

Police said 19-year-old Elias Alan-Arturo Flor turned himself in at the Winter Haven Police Department Saturday night after investigators shared his photo and asked the community to help identify him. FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Port Orange man finds himself surround by cement bricks after deputies say he stole more than a $1,000 worth of Legos from multiple stores. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sean Nicholas Dunlop on a warrant. Deputies say the 30-year-old went on a Lego shoplifting spree throughout the month of September. Dunlop’s shoplifting was first recorded Sept. 7, when he first lifted high valued Lego toys from a Flagler County Target, according to an arrest report. Investigators learned Dunlop also committed similar thefts at Volusia County Target locations and a Kohl’s using the same vehicle and method.

LARGO, Fla. – A Florida man is accused of spitting food into a woman's mouth following a road rage incident. Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies arrested David Paul Wipperman, 61, Thursday on felony battery charges in the Oct. 29 incident. An arrest report says Wipperman got into a road rage incident with a woman that evening. He got out of his truck and approached the woman’s vehicle, deputies say. The report says Wipperman spit the food he was chewing at her, then opened the door and screamed at her, the arrest report says.

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – That darn wind is always causing trouble, especially for "Florida Man." A man pulled over by police in Fort Pierce last month claimed the cocaine residue found inside a Budweiser can along with a crack pipe was blown there by the wind, according to News 6 sister station WPLG. Police noticed Joseph Zak, 37, appeared to be trying to discard an item when he was stopped for failing to pause at a stop sign, The Smoking Gun reports. When cops asked Zak about the white residue inside the can which eventually tested positive for crack cocaine, he told them "the police or the wind must have placed it there." Zak was arrested and jailed.
