The family of Jennifer Kesse says they have the best opportunity to find the missing woman now, 17 years after she disappeared from her Orlando condo complex.

Drew Kesse, whose daughter Jennifer Kesse has been missing since Jan. 24, 2006, marked the upcoming 16th year since the disappearance in an update to his family’s GoFundMe Wednesday.

ORLANDO, Fla. – It has been 15 years since the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse and there are still few clues about what happened to her on the day she vanished. Over the past 15 years, Orlando police and Kesse’s family have worked to exhaust every lead. “48 Hours” correspondent Peter Van Sant spoke to Drew and Joyce Kesse, Jennifer’s parents, and the investigator they hired. CBS learned renovations were happening at the Orlando apartment complex where Kesse lived around the time of her disappearance. Van Sant says it’s believed they were day workers or perhaps even been undocumented workers who disappeared after Kesse vanished.

ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Central Florida head football coach Josh Heupel announced Wednesday four players have been dismissed from the team. “As of today, there are some young men who are no longer part of our football program. Three other UCF players were in the car at the time, according to the incident report. The university has not identified the players dismissed from the team. Coach Heupel did not say why the players were dismissed from the team.

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – City officials with Daytona Beach named the next police chief of the city. Jakari Young will be sworn in as the city’s police chief at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 6. Young has been the deputy chief of the department since 2017 and has also been a part of the command staff for the past six years. Chief Craig Capri will retire after a 30-year career with the department. City officials say DBPD has an annual budget of $40 million with 256 officers and 60 civilian employees.
