WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Felony charges have been dropped against a Florida man who pointed a gun at another Walmart shopper in a dispute over not wearing a mask, authorities said. It showed Scavetta pointing a gun during the argument with Christopher Estrada, who was with his young daughter. Scavetta said Estrada struck him in the forehead with an umbrella and that led him to pull out his weapon. Police said Scavetta turned in his gun and has a valid concealed carry permit. Estrada said he raised the umbrella after Scavetta threatened him but wasn't sure if it made contact.

TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. A Florida man was arrested after confronting a child wearing a mask at a restaurant and spitting in his face when the boy refused to take it off, police said. Jason Copenhaver approached the child's table Sunday and asked the boy if he was wearing a mask, according to Treasure Island police. He then grabbed the boy's hand tightly and put his face next to the child's, telling the boy he now had the coronavirus, according to police reports. Victim stated that (Copenhaver) was in such close proximity that spit particles from (Copenhavers) mouth landed in his face, an officer wrote in the police report. Police said Copenhaver told them he didnt know if he had coronavirus and has never been tested.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Florida man is facing felony charges for pointing a gun at another Walmart shopper who had told him to wear a mask, officials said Thursday. That made it difficult to breath and fogged his glasses, so he took it off, he told investigators. The men agreed in their statements that Estrada told Scavetta he should wear a mask and Scavetta cursed at him. Estrada told Scavetta not to curse in front of his daughter. Scavetta, who has a concealed weapons permit, told investigators he pulled his .40-caliber handgun because he feared for his life.

ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. An unmasked man pulled a gun on a masked shopper and threatened to kill him during an apparent confrontation over masks at a Florida Walmart store, sheriff's officials said. The Royal Palm Beach store's security video shows the unmasked man pushing an older man in a wheelchair through the store on Saturday afternoon, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post. That's when the unmasked man gives the shopper the middle finger before pulling a handgun from his waistband, the sheriff's office said. The unmasked man made a death threat before leaving the store. The man then pushes the wheelchair to the parking lot and the pair left in a white Chevrolet Equinox SUV, sheriff's officials said.
