Read full article: After trial-run with Sleeping Beauty, Orlando Ballet sets stage for The NutcrackerORLANDO, Fla. – After a four-day trial run with Sleeping Beauty, The Orlando Ballet Company has set the stage to perform The Nutcracker to a limited audience at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. The Orlando Ballet Company is confident of the safety precautions put in place in partnership with DPAC. Officials with DPAC said they worked with The Orlando Ballet company for months to develop those safety protocols ahead of Sleeping Beauty. As far as seating, DPAC is only allowing 35% capacity inside the Walt Disney World Theater, seating every other row and parties at least three seats apart. Read full article: Orlando Ballet returns to live performances with ‘Sleeping Beauty,' the first since COVID-19ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Ballet is getting ready to kick off their season with ‘The Sleeping Beauty’-- only this time, some adjustments have had to be made due to the pandemic. Collins said special effects have been added and the choreography will be different to keep dancers and production staff safe. So, they [guests] will see less people on the stage but no less frame up for the story,” Collins said. The Orlando Ballet said it also made sure everyone involved with the production was cleared from coronavirus. “When guests first arrive, they will get their temperature checked outside,” Lorri Shaban, spokeswoman for Dr. Phillips Center, said.

Read full article: ‘We are still here:’ Orlando Ballet dancer ready to take the stage againORLANDO, Fla. – Beginning next month, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts said it’s ready to reopen its doors to major events, preparing to host Orlando Ballet for its performance of Sleeping Beauty. “We are still here,” said Cheryl Collins, executive director of Orlando Ballet. “We don’t know of anybody else that’s trying to do this in the ballet world in this juncture.”The Orlando Ballet had a devastating end to its season last spring, having to cancel two major performances due to COVID-19. However, after getting some advice with medical experts who sit on their board of directors, Orlando Ballet opened its doors to its new Harriet Orlando Ballet Centre.
