Panama City Beach police were investigating the BASE jumping incident and have released few other details. BASE jumping stands for jumping not from planes, but from fixed locations including buildings, antenna, spans or Earth. It has produced stunning online videos of people parachuting from buildings and wingsuit fliers zooming shockingly close to the treetops — mostly recorded outside the United States.

The voting locations should return to the normal 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. routine on Friday and Saturday, which is the last day for early voting in Florida. In neighboring Okaloosa County, Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux said all early voting locations will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday “out of an abundance of caution," as the storm approaches.

Forecasters expect winds to increase to up to 110 mph (177 kph) over the warm Gulf waters before the storm blows ashore.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office offered few details about the case on Thursday. Rescue crews were called to a home in Panama City late Wednesday after the baby was found inside the car. Sheriff’s officials said the baby had possibly been left inside the vehicle for several hours. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation, and will be speaking to witnesses to establish a timeline of events.

Uncast developed a “social distancing scoreboard,” which evaluates how every state is following and implementing social distancing in the battle against COVID-19. The Sunshine State was graded a B for its efforts to keep people away from each other during the coronavirus outbreak. The scores were developed using “human mobility data,” looking at traveled distance for each state, assuming people who are staying home aren’t traveling, and therefore are practicing social distancing. Seminole County jumping in on restrictions with its county-wide social distancing order.
