In addition to the new rooms, Disney Imagineers are also in the process of reimagining the Great Ceremonial House. AdDisney’s Polynesian Village Resort opened in 1971 and is beloved as a tropical oasis along the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon, across the water from Magic Kingdom Park. Walt Disney World hopes to share more developments on the construction progress in the coming weeks and months.

ORLANDO, Fla – Walt Disney World is planning on opening more of its resort hotels to all guests come next year. According to Disney’s phased reopening plans, the openings include the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian Resort Village and All-Star Movies Resort. Some of the resorts are currently open, but only to Disney Vacation Club members. Disney said the reopenings are subject to change, and reservations could still be modified to other hotels if needed. ORLANDO, Fla – Leaders at Walt Disney World have shared the first rendering of the upgrades coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Guests will see a new modern tropical entryway, dramatic lighting and enhancements to the resort’s lush gardens and fountains. Imagineers said one of the biggest challenges will be the transformation of the resort’s entryway into the Great Ceremonial House. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (WKMG-TV)The Polynesian Village Resort is currently open to Disney Vacation Club members and will reopen to all guests in the summer of 2021. A Disney spokeswoman said last month that during the closure imagineers will be performing renovations to the Polynesian’s guest rooms and great ceremonial house.
