Florida woman charged with setting fire to 10 trash trucks
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. โ A South Florida woman who set fire last fall to 10 garbage trucks outside a solid waste business where she worked has been arrested, authorities said. Saprell Frazier, 43, was taken into custody during a traffic stop Friday in Pompano Beach, a day after being placed under surveillance, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office report. She was charged with one count of burglary with structural damage and 11 counts of second-degree arson. Florida rolls out COVID-19 vaccine appointment system with hotline

Appointments for DOH-Broward COVID-19 #vaccination sites can be scheduled using the new State appointment system starting immediately. State officials said a phone system was more suited for seniors, who might be less accustomed to web-based technology and might need more assistance. โThe state is actively collaborating with counties and local officials to launch a system that will include a streamlined vaccination appointment process,โ Mahon said. Earlier this week, Florida vaccine sites also began requiring proof of part of full-time residency to get the shots here.
Gov. DeSantis helps debut new COVID-19 vaccine site at The Villages
THE VILLAGES, Fla. โ People in Sumter County now have a new opportunity to get a coronavirus vaccine. Through a partnership with the Florida Department of Health and Global Medical Response, those who are 65 and older can receive a vaccine free of charge at a new outdoor site. Steve and Gene Uhrick found out about the new site on Monday and right away signed up online for an appointment. As you register for the vaccine, you will also be asked how you want to receive your special PIN number. The governor assured Tuesday the site has the capabilities of administering around 800 shots a day to start.

Florida nurse accused of placing hidden camera in restroom
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. โ A Florida nurse has been charged with video voyeurism after being accused of planting a hidden camera in a public restroom at the rehab clinic where he worked. The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports Davidson Rozier, 33, was arrested Tuesday. The probe began in January, when another employee at 1st Step Behavioral Health in Pompano Beach, Florida, discovered a small camera hidden inside a box of tissues on the back of a toilet in the rehab clinicโs unisex restroom, the arrest report said. Rozier was fired that same day after clinic managers reviewed the cameraโs footage and saw Rozierโs face and badge as he placed the camera. Investigators reviewed the video footage and found images of at least one person who was unknowingly filmed while using the restroom, the report said.

ORLANDO, Fla. โ A 19-year-old Pompano Beach man is accused of attacking a security guard at Disney World at Animal Kingdom. James Patrick Arvid is facing charges of a battery on a uniformed security guard. The Orange County Sheriffโs Office said deputies responded to Animal Kingdom around 3:17 p.m. on Oct. 25. The Sheriffโs Office said Arvid was transported to Celebration Hospital for treatment as he was not being responsive to commands. According to an arrest affidavit, a doctor told deputies Arvid told a nurse โI took LSD and tried to kill someone.โInvestigators said Arvid could not recall anything else from the day.
93-year-old man struck, killed after getting out of car on I-95 in Volusia County
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. A 93-year-old Florida man was struck and killed after getting out of his vehicle Tuesday night on I-95 in Volusia County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The fatal crash was reported around 8:40 p.m. on I-95 north near Ormond Beach. According to the FHP, the Pompano Beach man exited his car, which was stopped or disabled in the left travel lane, and was struck by an SUV driven by a 23-year-old Palm Coast woman. The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the FHP. Troopers said the woman was unable to avoid the stopped car, which was also struck by her SUV.

Passenger killed in multi-vehicle crash on Floridas Turnpike in Sumter County
SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. An 84-year-old Pompano Beach woman died in a crash Monday evening on Floridas Turnpike in Sumter County. The van hit the rear of another van, causing that vehicle to crash into the back of a pickup truck, trooper said. A passenger in the fist van died as a result of the crash. The driver of the van and another passenger suffered serious injuries. The driver and two passengers in the second vehicle also suffered serious injuries, according to the report.
