A Florida missing child alert has been canceled by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement after a child missing out of Pasco County was found safe.

On Saturday night, Marquel Anthony McClendon, 7, was out looking at Christmas lights with his family when a motorcycle driven by Shaun Elliott Wyrich hit him. After he hit the boy, Wyrich told investigators he “got scared and just decided the leave," according to arrest records. When news broke that the child had died, Wyrich told investigators that guilt got the better of him. “I couldn’t live with myself knowing what I had done,” he told investigators on Sunday afternoon, the arrest report said. He told investigators he hid the bike inside his house, the arrest report said.

PORT RICHEY, Fla. – Florida authorities arrested on Sunday a motorcyclist who they said had fled after striking a 7-year-old boy, killing him. The Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release that the boy was crossing a road late Saturday in a residential neighborhood of Port Richey, Florida, when he was hit by the motorcycle. The motorcyclist fled the scene and the child died from his injuries at a hospital, authorities said. The law enforcement agency later said Shaun Elliott Wyrich, 19, arrived at the Port Richey Police Department and surrendered to Florida Highway Patrol troopers, admitting to his involvement in the crash. Authorities also recovered the motorcycle at a residence not far from the scene of the crash.

PORT RICHEY, Fla. A white woman was shot dead Saturday after firing at Florida sheriff deputies, authorities said. The Pasco County Sheriffs Office said on a series of Twitter posts that the woman fled during an investigation in Port Richey, Florida. The office said that the woman fired a shot at the deputies, who then shot at her, striking her once. Officials say the woman was pronounced death at the scene after being treated by emergency personnel. The sheriffs office did not release the name of the woman or the deputies.
