What needs to happen before SpaceXs Dragon Endeavour flies astronauts again?
Read full article: What needs to happen before SpaceXs Dragon Endeavour flies astronauts again?CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. The SpaceX spacecraft that made history after successfully completing its first flight with two NASA astronauts is not done yet, it will be refurbished and reflown again. NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken arrived safely home Sunday in their Dragon spacecraft nicknamed Endeavour, splashing down off Floridas west coast in the first splashdown since the Apollo program. The Crew Dragon spacecraft was designed to fly on five to 10 missions with maintenance between spaceflights. The next group set to fly on Dragon Endeavour is made up of two NASA astronauts: a Japanese astronaut and a European astronaut. A different Crew Dragon spacecraft is slated to launch four crew -- three Americans and one Japanese astronauts -- in late September.

NASA adds more safety fixes for Boeing's crew capsule
Read full article: NASA adds more safety fixes for Boeing's crew capsuleCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. NASA has added more safety fixes for Boeings space capsule before it can fly astronauts following a pair of close calls during last years test flight. Its a bit of a wake-up call for NASA and its contractors across the board, said Steve Stich, manager of NASA's commercial crew program. During its space debut last December with no one on board, the Starliner ended up in the wrong orbit and could not reach the International Space Station. SpaceX, meanwhile, successfully launched two NASA astronauts to the space station in May. In hindsight, NASA did not focus enough on the software portion of the Boeing flight, Stich said.

Boeing working on next steps after aborted Starliner mission
Read full article: Boeing working on next steps after aborted Starliner missionCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Engineers are working to determine what's next for Boeing's Starliner spacecraft after it returned to Earth following a failed mission to the International Space Station. So, we’ll really have all the data at the end,” Chilton said. The capsule landed in White Sands, New Mexico after its mission was cut down to only two days in space. After Sunday's landing, it's unclear how Boeing's plan to send a crewed mission to space will be affected, but NASA officials said it may not be a big setback for the private company. While the capsule didn't fulfill its entire mission, leaders at Boeing said they still have confidence in Starliner, which met most of its test flight objectives.
