With several record-breaking afternoons and the majority of the month running above average, it does not come as a surprise that June ended warmer than the average June.

It looks like 2022 is on track to be added to the list of record-breaking years.

Weather satellites have been around since 1960 when the first successful weather tracking satellite was first launched into orbit. Its name was TIROS-1. Throughout the years, newer weather sensing technology added to satellites gave us a new perspective and improved forecasting tools.

After 2021′s record breaking year of ranking the sixth warmest on record, it looks like 2022 is starting right where we left off.
