ORLANDO, Fla. – Troopers are looking for a man who sped off in another vehicle after a crash that left a man dead and another critically injured in Orange County Monday evening.
The crash happened at about 5:21 p.m. between a sedan and a dump truck on Clarcona Ocoee Road and Long Road near Orange Blossom Trail, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to troopers, the sedan was traveling east in the outside lane on Clarcona Ocoee Road approaching Long Road at the same time the dump truck was traveling west in the inside lane of the same road.
A crash report shows the sedan driver lost control for an unknown reason and traveled over the raised concrete median into the westbound lanes, entering the direct path of the Orlando dump truck driver, 38, and colliding.
The front passenger of the sedan, a 25-year-old Mascotte man, was pronounced dead at the scene while the rear passenger, a 26-year-old Orlando man, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, according to the crash report.
Troopers added the man driving the dump truck was not taken to the hospital and remained at the scene.
The sedan driver, however, fled the scene after the crash in an unknown vehicle, troopers said. According to investigators, witnesses described him as a man with dreadlocks wearing a blue shirt and acid-washed jeans who was picked up from the scene in what looked liked a white four-door sedan resembling a Nissan Sentra.
The crash is under investigation.
