OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A woman swerved to avoid a vehicle stopped on Interstate 4 in Osceola County and hit a pole on the interstate, forcing the brief closure of the roadway Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a 30-year-old Orlando woman was driving a 2005 Honda west on I-4 when she hit a pole after trying to avoid hitting a vehicle stopped on the interstate around 8:04 a.m. The crash happened near mile marker 67 at State Road 535.

FHP said the woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt during the crash, troopers said.

The woman was the only one in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
