What the Honk: Heat goes up, parking gets worse

Trooper Steve discerns the improper from the inconsiderate

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida heat is here, and summer is right around the corner.

The heat makes us all a little frustrated, but I think it contributes to the honks as well...

Treating your Nissan like a shopping cart you're done with. (Copyright 2022 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

This is a first. Two things in this photo that drive me crazy. Obviously, the silver Nissan here doesn’t have the slightest clue what is going on in life. To park like this and leave, you just need to turn in your driver’s license.

Then, the second thing is that rogue shopping cart that wasn’t returned properly. Car parking, illegal, but the shopping cart is just plain rude.

The good news about owning a motorcycle is that you can park just about anywhere. The bad news for everyone else is the same. (Copyright 2022 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

I am all for a good day on the motorcycle, but I do my best at not contributing to any stereotypes.

What do I mean? Why do motorcyclists feel they can park anywhere?

I have never really understood it, but this has got to stop. There are no exceptions for motorcycles except when signs say so. No sign here saying you can park where you want.

Why does nobody seem to use duct tape on actual ducts? It's always for something stupid these days, like this. (Copyright 2022 by WKMG ClickOrlando - All rights reserved.)

This is why Florida needs full-blown vehicle inspections every time you renew your vehicle registration.

Tough times call for tough measures, but safety is and should be a priority whenever we are driving, period. Having your front bumper and hood of your car secured by duct tape is just a setup for disaster. I can’t imagine that the front left headlight is working either. Oddly common here in the Sunshine State.
