ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A woman was killed and another person was critically injured in a crash Monday night in Ormond Beach, according to the police department.
Police said the crash happened near Old Kings Road and Nova Road.

Police said a Ford pick-up was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Nova Road and slammed into a black Ford SUV.
Investigators said the driver of the SUV — Geralynn Purvis, 42, of Ormond Beach — died in the crash. A passenger in the SUV was rushed to the hospital.
The truck’s driver sustained a head wound but refused to go to the hospital, records show.
The roadway was closed in both directions overnight but reopened hours later.
Officers are investigating whether the driver of the pick-up was under the influence prior to the crash.
