ORLANDO, Fla. – A fatal hit-and-run wreck Thursday morning forced the closure of Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The FHP said the pedestrian, a 31-year-old woman who has not been identified by authorities, was crossing OBT but not in a crosswalk and was struck by an unknown vehicle.

The pedestrian, who was now lying in the roadway, was then hit by a pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old Orlando man, troopers said. The man turned around to see what he struck when a third vehicle hit the pedestrian, the FHP said.

The pickup driver was not injured and remained at the scene, troopers said. The drivers of the first and third vehicles did not stop, the FHP said.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
