Man killed in crash with semi on Florida Turnpike in Osceola County, troopers say

Crash happened in St. Cloud near mile marker 232

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A 20-year-old man was killed in a crash with a semitruck on the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County early Monday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 7 a.m. in the southbound lanes near mile marker 232 in St. Cloud.

According to FHP, the 20-year-old Coral Springs man was in a Toyota Corolla traveling south when he failed to stop for traffic and tried to swerve to the right to avoid crashing, hitting the back of a stopped semi.

The man was pronounced dead on scene.

The semitruck driver was not taken to the hospital, troopers said.

The crash is still under investigation.
