Casselberry man dies after Ninja motorcycle, SUV collide on Lake Drive near Tuskawilla Road

Mazda CX-9 pulled into direct path of 21-year-old, FHP says

CASSELBERRY, Fla. – A 21-year-old Casselberry man was killed Thanksgiving night when his motorcycle crashed into an SUV that pulled out in front of him in Seminole County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal two-vehicle wreck happened around 7:40 p.m. on East Lake Drive at Bird Road, west of Tuskawilla Road near Casselberry.

According to the FHP, a 63-year-old Winter Springs man was driving a 2011 Mazda CX-9 south on Bird Road and turned left onto Lake Drive, into the direct path of a 2011 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle, which struck the front left side of the SUV.

The Casselberry man, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Orlando Health South Seminole Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to an FHP crash report.

The driver of the SUV and his passenger, an 87-year-old Oviedo woman, were not injured and stayed at the scene, troopers said.
