2 killed, 2 seriously injured in crash on CR-466 in The Villages, FHP says

Florida troopers investigate crash near Buena Vista Boulevard

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – A 27-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were killed and two others were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on County Road 466 in The Villages, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened around 10 p.m. on Monday near Buena Vista Boulevard.

According to FHP, a sedan traveling west on CR-466 and failed to stop at a red light, hitting the left side of another vehicle in the intersection.

The collision caused the two vehicles to hit a sign and the second vehicle hit the front of another.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 27-year-old Wildwood man, was pronounced dead, FHP said. His passenger, a 22-year-old Leesburg woman, died on Dec. 22 at a local hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, according to troopers.

Troopers said two 18-year-old men in the first vehicle had serious injuries. The driver and passenger in the third vehicle had minor injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
