ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Two drivers were injured Monday morning when a semitruck rear-ended another semitruck on Interstate 4 in Orange County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The westbound lanes were shut down from Central Florida Parkway to State Road 528 but later reopened. As of 10:30 a.m., there was still roadblock in the merge lane.

According to a crash report, a semitruck with a trailer was stopped in the center lane of I-4 when another semi with a trailer failed to stop and hit the back of the vehicle.

The impact caused the stopped semi’s trailer to hit the back of a Nissan Rogue that was also stopped in the outside center lane, FHP said

Troopers said the crash caused diesel to spill onto the interstate.

The two semitruck drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver and passenger in the Nissan Rogue, a 60-year-old man and 53-year-old woman from Jacksonville, were not injured.

An investigation is ongoing.
