Man dies in Marion County crash with fence, trees, troopers say

Crash happened on SE 175th Street near SE 140th Avenue

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A Weirsdale man died Wednesday morning after crashing into a fence and trees in Marion County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 12 a.m. on SE 175th Street near SE 140th Avenue near Weirsdale.

The FHP said a Dodge pickup truck driver, 27, was traveling west at a high rate of speed on SE 175th Street before crossing the center line and leaving the roadway, hitting a fence and trees.

The man was pronounced dead, the FHP said.
