LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were airlifted to hospitals from the scene of a crash on County Road 42 that stopped traffic Sunday morning in Lake County, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. and involved a single vehicle, what FHP said was an Acura SUV with a 27-year-old woman driving and a 26-year-old man as passenger, both of Deltona.

Troopers believe the driver lost control of the SUV while traveling eastbound past 10th Street, entering the westbound travel lane and soon the westbound shoulder before overcorrecting, sending the vehicle back into the eastbound lane before it rotated, left the roadway again and struck a tree on the east shoulder.
The woman suffered critical injuries in the wreck and the man suffered minor injuries, according to FHP.

The roadblock was established on CR-42 about a mile west of its intersection with State Road 44. Lanes were back open in the area by 3 p.m.
CR 42 near Paisley is shutdown due to a vehicle accident. Emergency personnel are currently on scene.
