OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening when he was rear-ended on Interstate 4 in Osceola County by a pickup truck that then crashed into several other vehicles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 7:10 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 62.

According to a crash report, the motorcycle was traveling behind a 2024 Volvo XC60 in the inside lane when they began to slow down for traffic ahead. The pickup truck, a 2023 Ford F150, failed to slow down and hit the back of the motorcycle, troopers said.
The truck then hit the back of the Volvo, which sent it into a 2023 Kia Sorrento and 2003 Honda CR-V, the report shows.
FHP said the pickup and motorcycle both became engulfed in flames.

The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old Haines City man, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Three passengers in the Volvo, including two 8-year-old boys, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The pickup truck driver, a 28-year-old Haines City man, was uninjured along with the drivers of the Volvo, Kia and Honda.
All westbound lanes of I-4 shut down in the area at the time of the crash but have since reopened.
An investigation is ongoing.
