The FHP said an unidentified vehicle was southbound on OBT and struck the man, who was in the center lane and not in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead, the FHP said.

According to troopers, the driver did not stop and fled the scene south on OBT.

A car part discovered by traffic homicide investigators suggests that the vehicle could possibly be a silver 2004-08 Toyota Solara with damage to its front grill, bumper and hood, the FHP said.

Anyone with information about the crash or vehicle is asked to call FHP at 407-737-2213 or Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
