ORLANDO, Fla. – News 6 traffic safety expert Trooper Steve Montiero answers viewer questions and shares tips about the rules of the road, helping Central Florida residents become better drivers by being better educated.
Trooper Steve on Tuesday explained the no stopping, standing or parking sign.
“I can promise that you have seen this sign out while shopping or simply around certain buildings, but what do they mean? No standing signs apply to unloading and loading people. Meaning, you are not to wait for someone in your car for them to come out,” he said.
For no parking signs, many people pull over at no parking signs briefly in order to load or unload passengers.
“This is going to be OK, but this must be quick and no waiting,” Trooper Steve said.
And for no stopping signs, these are the strictest of the categories.
“No stopping signs mean that you cannot stop for any reason at all to drop off or pick up passengers, to wait for people to arrive, or to load or unload merchandise.”
