MARION COUNTY, Fla. – An Ocala woman suffered minor injuries in a crash Thursday morning when she rear-ended a Marion County school bus carrying dozens of students, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 9 a.m. on County Road 326, just east of County Road 225A, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the Ocala woman, 28, was traveling east on County Road 326 in a Mercedes-Benz sedan behind a Marion County-owned school bus that was headed in the same direction. As the school bus slowed for a bus stop ahead of it, the woman failed to slow or stop the Mercedes-Benz, causing its front to strike the rear of the bus, the report states.
There were 50 students on the bus at the time of the crash, all of whom — along with the 59-year-old Reddick man driving the bus — were evaluated by Marion County Fire Rescue regarding minor complaints of injuries, according to FHP. None of the school bus occupants were taken to the hospital and its driver was described as uninjured, troopers said.
The Ocala woman was cited for careless driving, according to FHP.
