ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A two-vehicle crash early Saturday in Orange County killed two people and left three others hurt, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

The crash occurred around 5:39 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 50 (W Colonial Drive) and North Pine Hills Road, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, a 2012 Chrysler 200 was traveling south on Pine Hills Road while a 2016 Honda CRV traveled east on Colonial Drive. At the intersection, the front of the Chrysler struck the left side of the Honda, the report states. The color of the intersection’s traffic signals during the crash had still not been determined as of this writing.

Of the Chrysler’s three occupants, two of them — a 22-year-old Zellwood man who was driving the car and another man whose identity is pending verification — were taken to hospitals and pronounced dead, troopers said. The Chrysler’s third occupant — a 33-year-old Apopka man — was hospitalized in critical condition at last check, according to the report.

In the Honda, the 43-year-old Orlando man driving and a 39-year-old Orlando woman riding as a passenger were hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries, FHP said.

A complete road blockage in the area has since been cleared, troopers said.

FHP is still investigating.
