Around 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, Trost was driving a 2016 Jeep Compass northbound on International Drive, approaching Parc Corniche Drive in the left turn lane, as two boys — ages 14 and 15 — rode mini motorcycles southbound on International Drive, troopers said.

According to a preliminary crash report, Trost claimed he had a green traffic signal when he made the left turn at the intersection, at which point the two motorcycles collided with the right side of the Jeep. The 14-year-old was hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries while the 15-year-old was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert and remains in critical condition at the time of this writing, the report states.

Trost reportedly ran off, fleeing westbound on Parc Corniche Drive, troopers said. FHP would later find the damaged Jeep nearby and obtain an arrest warrant for its driver, as well as a search warrant for the vehicle, the report states.

FHP is still investigating.
