1 killed, 3 seriously injured, including Orlando man, in nearly head-on Florida crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – Three people, including an Orlando man, were seriously injured and another was killed Tuesday in a nearly head-on crash in Hernando County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Citrus Way near Kensington Road in Citrus Park.

According to FHP, the Orlando man, 18, was traveling north on Citrus Way in a Hyundai Elantra when he went into the southbound lane and collided with a Hyundai Accent.

A passenger in the Accent, a 47-year-old Weeki Wachee woman, was taken to the hospital, where she later died. The driver of the Accent, a 17-year-old Weeki Wachee boy, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 18-year-old Orlando man and his passenger, a 15-year-old St. Petersburg boy, were also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

No other information has been released.
